The Right-Hand Head Cover

Step 1

Retrieve the remaining Head-Cover Gasket and four Plug Caps from the previous stage. Fit the Head-Cover Gasket to the bottom of the Right-Hand Head Cover, matching the shape of each as shown.

As before, there is a specific way to install these Gaskets. Note this ‘tab’ at the narrow end:

This ‘tab’ fits over the wider flange of the Head Cover circled below:

Retrieve your Plug Caps from the previous stage. Carefully cut four (4) more Plug Caps from the sprues, as shown.

I recommend using sprue cutters or a sharp hobby knife here. Keep the remaining Plug Caps for later use:

Press the keyed post of these Plug Caps into the four center top holes of the Right-Hand Head Cover.

Remember, these will only sit flush if the key of each Plug Cap matches the position of the slot beside each hole:

Step 2

NOTE: To make this process a bit easier to follow, I have slightly changed the order of the these steps from the supplied instructions.

Carefully cut the two (2) Head-Cover Screws Type E (marked E1-E2) from the sprue, noting the cutting point as shown:

Gently press the bottom post of these Screws Type E into the following holes of each Cylinder Head Cover, as shown.

As we install these Head-Cover Screws, note they are located in mirrored positions of each Cylinder Head Cover. The top end of each Screw has a hex-shaped hole or recess detail – this is the end we want exposed. To prevent scratching the chrome, I used a set of tweezers with plastic/nylon tips here. Finally, if you find the fitment of any of these Screws loose, use a tiny drop of super glue to keep them in place:

Next, carefully cut two (2) Head-Cover Screws Type D (marked D1-D3) from the sprue, noting the cutting point as shown.

An extra Screw Type D is included as a spare:

Gently press the bottom post of these Screws Type D into the following holes of each Cylinder Head Cover, as shown:

Next, carefully cut four (4) Head-Cover Screws Type C (marked C1-C5) from the sprue, noting the cutting point as shown.

An extra Screw Type C is included as a spare:

Gently press the bottom post of these Screws Type C into the following holes of each Cylinder Head Cover, as shown:

Skip a hole and install two more Screws Type C into these holes:

Now, carefully cut four (4) Head-Cover Screws Type B (marked B1-B5) from the sprue, noting the cutting point as shown.

An extra Screw Type B is included as a spare:

Gently press the bottom post of these Screws Type B into the following holes of each Cylinder Head Cover, as shown:

Finally, carefully cut thirty (30) Head-Cover Screws Type A (marked A1-A33) from the sprues, noting the cutting point as shown.

Three extra Screws Type A are included as spares:

Gently press the bottom post of these Screws Type A into the remaining holes of each Cylinder Head Cover, as shown:

Don’t forget these three holes around the pipe on each Head Cover, as shown:

Thoughts

That was a lot of tiny details to add to our Cylinder Head Covers, but I absolutely love them. Not only does the chrome stand out, but they are all different shapes and sizes, just like the real car! Store these Head Cover assemblies somewhere safe as they will not be needed again in this pack.
