The Bonnet’s Hydraulic Strut

Step 1

Retrieve your Bonnet assembly from Stage 06 and place it upside down on a soft surface. Align the eyelet of the Piston to the hole at this location on the Left Bonnet Hinge, then secure it into place with one (1) Type D screw.

Be sure this Piston is attached to the inside surface of the Hinge, as shown. Do not over-tighten this screw as it may damage the plastic Piston and the Piston needs to be able to pivot around the screw:

Slide the open end of the Cylinder onto the rod of the Piston, as shown:

As the Cylinder is not secured at this point, you may want to use a piece of tape to keep it from disappearing:

Thoughts

This was a quick stage, but I appreciate any progress we make! We will not need this Bonnet assembly (nor the Hub Cap) again in this pack, so go ahead and store them somewhere safe for now. However, keep the Wheel Rim nearby for the next stage.
