The Right Exhaust Manifold

Step 1

Retrieve your three Right Manifolds from the previous stage. Press the short pin of Right Manifold D (marked ‘R4’) into one of the six holes in the Manifold Connector.

NOTE: These steps may be slightly different than those found in the instructions.

There are six Right Manifold parts in total, marked ‘R1’ through ‘R6’:

Here are the parts laid out and identified by their part list numbers – note the A through F designations match the order of the ‘R1’ through ‘R6’ marks:

Knowing this information, we can install the first Right Manifold part, as shown:

Press the short pin of Right Manifold E (marked ‘R5’) into the next hole of the Manifold Connector in a clockwise direction, as shown:

Step 2

Continuing clockwise around the Manifold Connector, press the short pin of Right Manifold F (marked ‘R6’) into the next hole of the Connector as shown.

I got carried away while building and accidentally installed the Right Manifold A (marked ‘R1’) early, and incorrectly. Ignore this:

Instead, we should be installing the Right Manifold F (marked ‘R6’), as shown here:

In the next clockwise hole of the Connector, press the short pin of Right Manifold A (marked ‘R1’) into the Connector as shown.

Here is where I corrected the positioning of the Right Manifold A:

Step 3

Press the short pin of Right Manifold C (marked ‘R3’) into the next clockwise hole of the Connector, as shown:

Finally, press the short pin of Right Manifold B (marked ‘R2’) into the last hole of the Connector, as shown:

This is what our assembled Right Exhaust Manifold should look like, with all the long pins of the pipes aligned in a row:

While not instructed to do so yet, we can optionally slide the Manifold Connection Flange from the previous stage onto the thick pins of the six Right Manifold parts. This will help to keep the Manifold assembly together until we install it. On the inside of the Flange are ‘R1’ and ‘R6’ markings:

These markings these should match the pipe markings to fit it onto. The detailed side of this Flange should face the pipes/connector, as shown:

Thoughts

These parts may be a bit loose right now, but they will be secured soon. The unused Manifold Connector and Manifold Connection Flange supplied in this stage will be used on the Left Exhaust assembly in the next stage:
