The Left Exhaust Manifold
Step 1
Retrieve your Manifold Connector from the previous stage. Press the short pin of Left Manifold C (marked ‘L3’) into one of the six holes in the Manifold Connector.
NOTE: These steps may be slightly different than those found in the instructions.
There are six Left Manifold parts in total, marked ‘L1’ through ‘L6’:
Here are the parts laid out and identified by their part list numbers – note the A through F designations match the order of the ‘L1’ through ‘L6’ marks:
Knowing this information, we can install the first Left Manifold part, as shown:
Press the short pin of Left Manifold B (marked ‘L2’) into this hole of the Manifold Connector, orienting it as shown:
Step 2
Continuing counter-clockwise around the Manifold Connector, press the short pin of Left Manifold A (marked ‘L1’) into the next hole of the Connector as shown:
In the next hole of the Connector, press the short pin of Left Manifold D (marked ‘L4’) into the Connector as shown:
Step 3
Press the short pin of Left Manifold E (marked ‘L5’) into the next counter-clockwise hole of the Connector, as shown:
Finally, press the short pin of Left Manifold F (marked ‘L6’) into the last hole of the Connector, as shown:
This is what our assembled Left Exhaust Manifold should look like, with all the long pins of the pipes aligned in a row:
While not instructed to do so yet, we can optionally slide the Manifold Connection Flange from the previous stage onto the thick pins of the six Left Manifold parts. This will help to keep the Manifold assembly together until we install it. On the inside of the Flange are ‘L1’ and ‘L6’ markings:
These markings these should match the pipe markings to fit it onto. The detailed side of this Flange should face the pipes/connector, as shown:
Thoughts
As with the Right Manifold, these Left Manifold parts will be loose until we secure them to the Engine over the next two stages.
