The Rear Frame

Step 1

Fit the Right Engine Compartment Wall to the Rear Frame as shown, aligning the three screw holes:

Begin securing the Compartment Wall to the Frame with two (2) Type H screws.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on the threads of all screws going into metal parts:

Finish securing this Wall to the Rear Frame with one (1) Type D screw:

In the same way, fit the Left Engine Compartment Wall to the Rear Frame as shown and align the screw holes:

Begin securing this Compartment Wall to the Frame with two (2) Type H screws:

Finish securing the Wall to the Rear Frame with one (1) Type D screw:

Step 2

Retrieve your Engine assembly from the previous stage. Fit the Engine down into the Rear Frame and align the three bottom points to their matching holes.

The Rear Exhaust components should be rotated down at ends of the Catalytic Converters to help make this installation easier:

Then, lowering the rear end of the Engine assembly into the Rear Frame first, fit everything into place as shown:

Once placed, secure the Engine to the Rear Frame from below with three (3) Type B screws:

With the Engine assembly secured, we can rotate the two Rear Exhaust components back into the proper orientation:

Step 3

Finally, fit the Rear Frame Bracket down into the matching recesses on either side of the Rear Frame.

Make sure this is oriented as shown:

Thoughts

Well, this is a beautiful looking Engine assembly! The Compartment Walls do hide some of our lower engine details, but I have a sneaky feeling we won’t see much of this powerplant once the car is built up around it. Great work getting to this point, we have finished Pack 5!
